  What to Expect

After discussing your sleep concerns with your primary doctor, that individual may wish to refer you for a sleep evaluation. Once we receive your referral, we will contact you to schedule your initial evaluation. During this appointment, Dr. Crowe will spend about half an hour with you to fully understand your concerns. If a sleep study, also called a Polysomnogram (link to definition which is on services offered page), is needed, this can be scheduled at the end of your visit.

On the night of the sleep study, we ask that you arrive at 8:30 pm. Our technicians will greet you and let you in to building. Our facility is on a timed lock so that no one can get in without permission.

We have bathrooms and showers if you need to be somewhere in the morning. Just tell the technicians what time you need to be awakened.

Your doctor will have the results from Dr. Crowe within 2 – 3 days. You are welcomed to call us to discuss your results separately. Some sleep disorders require a second sleep study for treatment. For example, if you are diagnosed with sleep apnea, a syndrome of snoring, light sleep due to airway closure, and daytime sleepiness, you may be asked to return for treatment. This second study is called a Polysomnogram with CPAP titration.

After this study, we ask that you return to Dr. Crowe or to your doctor to discuss the results and finalize your long-term plan for treatment.

Dr. Crowe would like to see you at regular intervals to assess the benefit and make fine adjustments to your sleep care.
